My dad raised me as a Ford man , so my love for Mustangs goes back to my high school days. My first was a blue ‘66 Coupe followed by a white ‘65 GT. Julia and I were married in 1983 and I parted with the ‘65 Mustang shortly after. Over the years I’ve had a yellow ‘65 Coupe, a silver 90 LX 5.0 convertible and currently an azure blue 2004 Mach 1.

We joined the Hoosier Mustang Club in 2012 and have made so many good friends over the years. We enjoy cruises and car shows, where we’ve won several awards with both our convertible and Mach 1.

We have two adult children. Our son, Mitch, lives in Seymour and our daughter and son-in- law, Shelby and Steven, live in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have a white 2018 Mustang GT and participate in some club activities there.

Our Mach 1 recently went through a major series of engine repairs. The motor blew a #4 cylinder spark plug last year which caused severe damage. I took on the task of pulling the original engine, dismantling it and having it rebuilt at Kneirman Racing Engines in Louisville. This ended up being a lot more time and money involved than we originally thought, but it has been worth it in the end.

As a Mustang enthusiast, this car has become part of our lives for so long we just weren’t ready to part with it. Three of my favorite memories were meeting Richard Petty and Gale Halderman (presented my trophy).

I then met Scott Hoag who signed my car. Mr. Hoag is the engineer who designed the 2001 Bullitt and 2004 Mach 1. We’ve made so many good memories over the years and look forward to many more.
